Help with Martial Arts…?
I wondering how to incorporate functional strength training for Muay Thai.. i have strong legs, but my punching and upper body strength is weak.
i am going to a gym the trainer doesn’t understand functional strength training… i really need to focus on my punching, Abs and stamina….
Any Help would be sincerely appreciated i have a full contact tournament in august i need to be ready for…
by strength i don’t mean george foreman punching. The punches should pack a sting and strength/ conditioning to block high kicks and punches to the body.
I’ll be competing in a muay thai rules / kickboxing rules. Clinching will be allowed but no elbows.
I would suggest a lot of push ups and a variety of crunches/sit ups.
Work on your punches on a variety of bags (heavy, light, speed).
Do you plan on clinching or throwing? If not, work on punching technique and speed and don’t worry so much about strength. Speed and accuracy are more important than brute strength.

how do i loose weight in my legs to be able to kick in taekwondo?
does anyone know what i shuold do to make my legs lighter to kick in taekwondo? like bikeing or runing?
Your problem is probably strength rather than the weight of your legs. Practice kicking more and your legs will become stronger. Running and biking will also strengthen your legs and give you more stamina.

How do i build strength?
I can never accept the fact people are naturally stronger then others, if theres a steady consistent method of training i think we all can be as strong as everyone else around us. Now im not talking about bulky muscles im talking about surviving in a punch up. Any experiences would help ,i just need to get on a program to get dense muscle and get tougher but i dont know how. Im desperate to know what i need to do and i need to do it fast, cause my new lifestyle forces me to stand up for myself against guys ten times bigger then me and im sure strength training is needed before anything. Im experienced in martial arts but i realised without a bit of extra strength it cant be applied.

I understand ur problem but to increase ur strenth u will have to work at it, last year i trained all summer and when i went back to school i was still weaker than my friend and he never traines but my arms were bigger than his i couldnt stand it but i did some resrech. what u should do is join a gym or get some weaights till then go back to martial arts. It could be ur age or just ur body type everyone has different musels that react differently for me its my delts and back while my legs grow fast when i train them. And remember ur diet is also very important aswell as enough sleep( be carefull not to over train as that will cause ur body to break down its own musel for energy and make you weak). one thing to do is a couple of squats for legs’ deadlifts used by the spartans in 300, and try do asmany push ups as u can.
