African Martial Arts Capoeira
What hardcore racially motivated things have you been made to do by your parents?
When I was little because my mom is 3/4 oki-japanese she made me take taiko lessons….but when I wanted to take jujitsu my dad said no and put me in a black martial arts class..I began to learn capoeira in stead….
so what have your parents forced you to do because of your culture
if you are mexican did they put you in mariachi lessons, or if you are chinese did they make you take kung-fu classes
if you are black did you start taking jazz lessons, or learn how to play african instruments?

I know what you mean
when I was 5 my mom noticed that I had poor hand writing and she made me write each month of the year 5 times each and then my name 10 times each every day to help it get better..it worked but it was brutal
she also made me read my first chapter book when I was 6 it was a book about the holocaust called Kindertransport…a bit heavy for a 1st grader in my opinion
I guess the ONE year we celebrated Kwanzaa counts. I still dislike that “holiday” with a passion, but I digress.
Oh! I also had to learn French (mom’s half French), but it turned out okay because I really love it.
