Marines after High School since I don’t want to go to college? Good Idea?

I want to join the USMC after High School since I really don’t want to go to college because I really can’t afford it and it’s not what I really want to do. What I really want to do is serve my country and train and fight in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). How can I explain this to my parents? By the way I’m a Senior now.

P.S. What are some exercises I can do back at home to get ready for the Marines (Boot Camp)? Right now I do Muay Thai, Boxing, and kickboxing and run track for my school?

GO FOR IT! and start it as soon as you can to get as much preparation as you can. Me and my best friend just graduated and my best friend is now in Parris Island in bootcamp. Im getting letters from her… they try to break you and they try hard, but it will be easier if you get used to that idea before you get there. She will be a musician in the Marines and i’m very proud of her. Its a very honorable commitment to make, so go for it and good luck! :) and- since i went to training (PT) with her, make sure you can do pull ups (if youre a guy) and if youre a girl.. idont remember what you are.. then you need to do flexed arm hang. RUN RUN RUN. youre gonna need a lot of practice in that. Also push ups are big, flutter kicks, sit-ups the RIGHT way (have your partner sit on your feet facing you) i know it is awkward, but its the only way to do it. hope this helps :)
