Belt Promotion Taekwondo

Which martial arts should I take next?
I took karate for maybe a week when I was six or seven, so I don’t really count that. And I took taekwondo from the time I was seven till I was thirteen. I didn’t make it that far in taekwondo though, because I was always really busy and only went to maybe one class a week. I was two belt promotions away from being a black belt. I really want to take a martial arts class again. The different things offered in my area are tang soo do karate and sport karate, I don’t know if there’s any difference or whatnot, Brazilian jiu jitsu, and taekwondo. So I was wondering what everyone’s reccomendations were. I am not as busy as I was when I was younger and I would have much more time to go to class. So time isn’t an issue anymore.
Try going to watch or take an introduction class in each so you can find out what they are all about and how the instructor is. Than pick the one that interest you the most, in the end it is about what you want and will stick to.
@Chilli: Aikido was something that she said was offered near her, so why would you suggest something that she is unable to take.

would learning Judo & Boxing be effective in a street fight?
Im a fairly small guy & it would be really easy to beat me in a fight or perhaps even bully me because of my physical stature…
So I am considering learning Boxing & Judo next year so I just want to know if they’re actually effective in real life situations because fighting in a dojo or in the ring is not the same thing as fighting on the streets or fighting without rules while you’re adrenalin kicks in & you get into fight or flight mode..
Let me rephrase the question..
HOW WOULD JUDO & BOXING BE EFFECTIVE IN A STREET FIGHT?
@SsSsSsSs
I have no experience & I am against bullying…what the f*ck are even you talking about? did you even read what I wrote?
@SsSsSsSs
pls read properly you pressumtious f*ck…I am only looking to defend myself from street muggers & other dangerous situations as I am not a very strong man.
Street Fight – I have never fought a street and most fights Ive been in or witnessed do not take place in streets. Street fight is a undefined term that can range from 2 jr high kids on a playground to 3 on 1 in a parking lot with pipes and chains involved. Most the time this term is used is to add and air of prestige to a fight (whether it was a school scrap or 2 drunks in a bar)
Judo and Boxing compliment well. A person with 1 full year of boxing training is very well prepared for 9 out of 10 fights that normally occur in the US. Boxing has immediate training proficiency results when compared to other martial arts. It takes about a year to get the fundamentals down pat. Karate or TKD takes about 3 or 4, maybe 2 if your a rock star.
Judo is a good grappling form, because it has a lot of focus on stand up technique and putting your opponent down while you stay on your feet. However you will most likely not deal with “self defense” (as in weapon disarmament, no gi throws, etc) applications until you reach a relatively intermediate level.
Yes Judo and boxing both compliment each other and are very effective in most fighting situations. As a matter of fact LOL Hitler recommended in “Mein Kampf” his stormtroopers train in “Boxing and Jujitsu (Kano Jujitsu ie Judo which was being promoted in Germany at the time) so they could defend themselves against political rivals. Well Germany at that time was a rabble rousers brawling paradise and you which rabble rouser came out on top.
