Looking For MMA classes?
Hi. I am 17 years old and I want to get in to MMA. I live in Slidell Louisiana. I have no idea where I can find a studio or classes. Most of the time people refer me to karate and that is not what I mean. Mixed Martial Arts is what I am looking for. I want to learn how to grapple and how to defend myself. This is something I want to get in to no only because I want to, but because I will be enlisting in the Marines in three years. Thanks for any help. (I also cant go any farther than Slidell.)
My grades are great, and please don’t tell me to do karate. Just need answers. Thanks.

What is a good martial art to learn if I want to become a police officer?
I’ve looked into Krav Maga and I liked it but it seems like excessive use of force and not applicable to all situations. I’ve looked into aikido but there seems to be a debate as to whether it will actually work. How about Ju Jitsu or Judo? I just don’t know. Looking at all martial arts, which one is best suited for police work? Something that can work on the street not just in the arena. Something that takes the criminal to the ground without having to beat him senseless.
Judo. No strikes or kicks, just holds and take downs. Much easier to justify a take down then it is to justify a martial art’s kick that sends the offender to a hospital.
