aikido society

Do people still think that….?
tkd or karate or even aikido works in 21st century society
i trained in tkd, for 1 yr and had a great instructor but the art was totaly bs, i then went to kungfu and judo and saw how real martial arts are supposed to be used
mma has given a new breed of defence, which is even greater
and people who say that its not the art but the person who does it which matters is totaly bs as well
beacuese a person doing tkd, training every day would still get submitted by a bjj or judo practitoner
im not trying to bash other arts i think ivej ust been reading to much on bullshido lol
when ur in a fight do you go straight for the takedown or do u stand up
wats ur favourite taekdown
thank u
Chuck Liddell’s base art is Kenpo Karate.
George St. Pierre’s is Tae Kwon Do
Some are more realistic than others, but they all have a place.

Above the Law $3.57 Steven Seagal plays a Chicago cop who takes on CIA types inthis action thriller from Andrew Davis (The Fugitive). Davis brings muscle to the project, including some strong set pieces that make Seagal (who also co-wrote and co-produced the film) look awfully good. Costars Pam Grier and Sharon Stone give a big assist in that department, too, yet nothing can really mitigate such ridiculous moments a… |

aikido corner

help with my Language Arts homework! (its keeping consistent tenses)?
Ok I have to tell if the tenses are consistant or not and correct any errors. Here are the sentences are thanks for your help!
1. We went to the movies, and it starts before we even get our popcorn!
2. I will tell you before not to slam the door when you leave.
3. Jonathan loved to take walks on the beach. One day, he sees a wounded gull.
4. Sasha rode the bus every day last week and will have been riding it 20 times by the end of this month.
5. Something had told me we are in trouble.
6. George Washington crossed the Delaware on Dec. 25, 1776. In just one week, his soldiers enlistments will end, and they were free to leave.
7. Next month, I am wearing braces for one whole year.
8. Every Saturday, we are going for aikido lessons, and then we have something to eat.
9. I’m standing on the corner yesterday when 3 fire engines went by.
10. When will you finish your homework? Soon, I hope. I worked for 3 hours by the time i’m done.
1. you have to change starts to started becaus it’s like you’re telling about what happened yesterday. You can’t act like it’s currently happening if it already happened.
2. Would someone really say that? or would they say “I have told you before…” It puts it in past tense, speaking about the past.
3. If Jonathan sees a gull, he must be currently walking. Or if he used to walk, then he SAW a gull once. This one can be solved two ways by changing loved to loves or sees to saw
4. I hate this sentence. Sasha rode the bus last week, so it’s in past tense. She will have RIDDEN the bus 20 times because ridden is past tense and “will have been riding” is talking about the future in a weird way.
5. Something tells you right before you’re in trouble, it doesn’t set up an appointment to tell you then not show up.
6. The soldiers enlistments must have ended a long time before next week, so this one should be talking about the past. Their enlistments ended.
7. you can’t wear braces for a year in 30 days. In speaking about your one year braces anniversary, you say, “next month, I have worn braces…”
8. do you go to aikido lessons last week and next week? if so, then “we go to aikido lessons”
9. you stood on the corner yesterday.
10. I will have worked for five by the time my homework is done. “will have” because you’re addressing something that happens in the future, in this case, completion of homework.
