Ancient Chinese Swords – Two Unpopular Ancient Chinese Swords
Chinese Zhanmadao Sword
The Ancient Chinese Zhanmadao Sword is a Sabre, which is a two handed sword, with One Long Blade that is very Broad and also a very long handle. Around 1072 A.D., this weapon was used against enemy calvary. The handle was 37 centimeters long and was wrapped which made it easy to hold this weapon with both hands. The last part of the blade was slightly curvy but the rest of it was very straight. This Sword Blade was 114 Centimetres in length.
The Zambato was a similar sword. In fact, rumor has it that this weapon was inspired by the Zhanmadao and both were rumored to take out a soldier and their horse with one swing. A weapon of equal size called the Zweihander were used by Westerners to cut the front legs off of a galloping horse. However this data has been the subject of debate.
Chinese Yanmaodao Sword
The Yanmaodao is the Standard Military Weapon that is a form of Dao weapon that was used in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The curve of this blade starts about the center of percussion. However the rest of this sword blade is very straight. The center of percussion is defined as the part of the blade that is straight which causes the least vibration upon impact and pressure.
This weapon was designed for thrust attacks but was also effective in slashing and cutting. About 200 years ago the Yanmaodao lost its popularity in combat and the Martial Arts Community. This weapon almost always has straight grips. Ming Artwork however shows pictures of these weapons as having handles that were curved downwards. In the last part of the Qing Dynasty reign, the curved grips were a lot more popular than the straight grips.

Deadly Karate Styles
there is a local master in my area and he teaches if you clean his dojo and tend to his garden but recently?
another school moved into the area and challenged him and they are going to fight, the old master knows kung fu ( anceint deadly style) while the challenger knows plain karate’. i am quire sure the old master will dispose of the challenger quickly, but what should we tell the cops?
This is all BS. There are at least 300-400 known styles of Kung-Fu. There is no such thing as “Plain Karate”. Karate has at least 50 styles and or sub-styles. I don’t buy the story at all. I certainly don;t believe that they are planning a fight. If these people really exist, and if they are really planning to fight each other, then I can only say that both are idiots that are not worth training with.
