What to wear to kickboxing?
I’ve got my first kickboxing lesson coming up, im a guy, so strappy tanks are just out of the question. If youve seen my other questions before you’ll know i need to cover my shoulders. Help, or ill be going in a t-shirt and rugby shorts.
a t-shirt and jogging bottoms or shorts would be fine aslong as you can move freely in them

Jigsaw Mats Judo
What is the difference (safety implications) between a 20mm and 30mm jigsaw mat?
I’m contemplating on buying jigsaw mats tomorrow. Is there really a difference between 20mm and 30mm. Right now price ain’t an issue. They’re going to be placed on top of concrete and grass and I would like to know if you can still get seriously hurt from a double-leg take down or judo throw if I was to get a 20mm mat. Since the genre is going to be MMA, we are going to be practicising a lot of throws/take downs/sweeps. So, is there a safety difference between 20mm or 30mm jigsaw mats?
I go with the 30mm mats. I have used puzzle mats for many years. Mine are not the ones made for martial arts. I got my mats at Home Depot. They are 2′ by 2′ by about 5/8″ thick. for light takedowns we can get by with one layer of mats. However it is not good enough for hard throws. I have two layers of the 5/8″ mat, giving me a little over an inch of thickness. you really can feel the difference when you get thrown hard. 1″ is equal to 25.4mm. So 30, is more than an inch thick. Should be great for what you are going to do. Another option that i like is Gymnastic foam. It comes in 6′ wide rolls that are 42′ long. you can buy it as the bare foam, or with a carpet bonded to the foam. In the 1990′s you could buy the bare foam rolls for about $300.00 each. I cover them with the tarps you can get at Home Depot, ..etc. It protects the foam and gives me a nice surface to train on. when the traps wear out it is easy and cheap to replace.
