Where Does Chi Energy Come From In Taekwondo, Kenpo, Kung Fu, Or Any Martial Art?

Most people don’t have a clue where the chi Energy comes from comes from in Taekwondo, Kenpo, Kung Fu, or any other martial art. That there is chi is plain to see, one just need take note of a real martial artist move to know that he is doing something beyond simple muscles. The problem is that most teachers don’t take the time to explain the exact growth of chi in the martial artist.

A fellow walks into the martial arts training hall, and the first thing he must do is start conditioning his body. Any art, from Jujitsu to Tai Chi Chuan is going to require a body in first class condition. Thus, there are exercises at the start of every training session, and the training itself makes the body stronger.

This is the place, sad to say, at which many people step off the path of the true art. Most people believe that muscles are the everything, and they start weightlifting, focusing their training on the body, and they miss the real dynamite. The real dynamite is something referred to as the Tan Tien, or the ‘One Point.’

Before I tell you about the Tan Tien, let me emphasize something about all this. You need muscles, it is true, but you don’t need big muscles…you just need coordinated muscles. You need to learn how to make all the muscle work at the same time.

If the muscles work at the same time, you are able to use all of your weight and energy. This is much more efficient than if you use the muscles of the body in parts, which is what training with weights, or similar methods, often result in. I call this practice of using all the muscles of the body at the same time ‘Coordinated Body Motion,’ or CBM.

The Tan Tien is located just below the navel, and it is the center of the body. When one uses this energy center they must breath into and out of it. No, air doesn’t reach the center, but the breathing (as if through the diaphragm) sets up waves of energy which reach the tan tien, and translate into the explosive power the tan tien is capable of emitting.

Now, it is sometimes difficult to locate the tan tien, or learn how to use it in the beginning. A good trick is to place one foot waist high on a wall, then simply swap feet. Within a short time you will feel the necessity to breath deep, to settle the energy down, and use the One Point.

There are other methods of developing this chi power, but this is one of the simplest I know. Once you start feeling the energy center for the body explode, you will start using it for everything in the arts; strikes blocks, martial arts stances, all moves will start to come from the body center. Try this, and it will only be a short time before you are using that awesome chi power in Karate, Taekwondo, Kenpo, or any other Martial Art.

Advice? MMA Highlights video

Hey guys, I am currently working on an MMA highlights video. So far i have about half of the intro. It is called, ” What makes MMA so great?” I added. “Muay thai?” “GnP’s?” “Submissions?” Brutal KOs? The mighty desire to win? or all of the above and then the Highlights start. This video is for all MMA fans, so what ever you want too see, let me know. Any fights/fighters, music, videos, pics, etc. Any other advice is appreciated.

It will probably be done within the month. Thanks

What I have produced.

Yea i agree, that music was for the intro. I added Headstrong by Trapt for the rest of the highlights, so far i think it looks good! It should be up within the week.

The music is a little too soft. Otherwise, pretty cool. Nice clip of a flying armbar.

Personally, I’d like to see more submissions.
