Written Taekwondo

Can anyone explain to me the main differances between TaeKwonDo and Karate?
I have a paper to write and would like these to be my topics.
Tae Kwon Do translates as “Hand Foot Philosophy” or “The way of the hand and foot”.
Karate means “empty hand”.
Karate is Okinawan or Japanese.
Tae Kwon Do could be very loosely translated as “Korean Karate”.
Tae Kwon Do is recoginzed by the International Olympic Committee as a sport.
Most Karate systems employ weapons training as part of their curriculum, most TKD schools do not.
The strikes and stances are very similar, only minor differences. TKD has a much higher percentage of “high kicks” and “jumping kicks”, and generally employs kicks more often than Karate.
Both curriculum’s generally include “sport/competition”, “self defense” and “forms” aspects. A karate form is called a “kata”, a tae kwon do form is called a “Poomse”.
Of course there are exceptions to all of these generalities.

Karate Motobu

Anybody know about the ‘Shiro Kuma’ kata?
So, I was really bored, and tried to Googling my own nick name. Among the top results was a blog from a bujinkan practitioner, and a link to a wikipedia article on karateka Motobu Chōki, since he is supposed to have created his own kata called Shiro Kuma http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motobu_Ch%C5%8Dki#Training_and_career )
Now, I’m not a karateka, and I don’t think I have what it takes to fully appreciate what a karate kata entails, but I am curious. Does anybody have more information about the Shiro Kuma kata?
Nobody knows anything about this one , only the name .
Choki Motobu had a lot of students ( wellknown names ) but most of them took only parts of his teachings and incorporated them into their own systems . But they ceirtainly gave him credit due .
Even his son was not taught this kata . Only few members of Chokki Motobu original Daidokan Dojo survived the WW2 . His son Chosei Motobu made a super dvd about Chokki Motobu personal system , but Shiro Kuma is not there . Its forgotten treasure . But his jiyu hon kumite and kata Naihanchi is worth checking out nevertheless .
Im sure sooner or later will come up some weirdo claiming that he found or knows this kata .
Edit : @ scandal – im sorry, but in his interview from 2002 Chosei Motobu is said that he trained with his father only from age of 14 till 17 and then with Shinpan Shiroma .
Its time to let go man . Shiro Kuma is lost .
