is there any self defence arts that suits me?

you see, there are self defence styles like silat, karate, tae kwon do, judo and so many else that I don’t know.

Some of you guys may know many things about self defence.
here’s about me. you can say my legs are longer but I’m not an active kinda person. Okay, maybe you can tease me and call me a wimp.
I just thought of some kind of self defence that evade attacks. ya know, so it’ll be good to run away and when facing someone, it’s about weakening them and not really beating them up. self defence is not about killing people.

So, any suggestions?

all arts have there advantages and disadvantages in self defense. one is not better then the other.
you need to find a good quality instructor in the art you choose.
while aikido and tai chi would make as good of a choose as karate or any other style, they may take longer to learn self defense.
in any art self defense does not come over night it takes take.
my preference is karate, but that’s me.

tai chi has a nice relaxing quality to it and is like a moving zen, under a good instructor you can learn to self defense with this art. but most of the instructors don’t understand the combat aspect of it.

aikido and judo consist of a lot of throw to put it simple, judo does have some strikes in it.

karate depending on the style and teacher consists of strikes, throw, locks and grappling

taekwondo to put it simply is the korean version of karate it is most noted for its high kicking and is about 65% kicking. compared to most karate styles which are 50% kicking.

this is a very basic description of the arts there is a lot more to them.
i hope this help you
best of luck
